easyBRIDGE — The versatile PV mounting system for metal & trapezoidal sheet roofs

Overview and areas of application

easyBRIDGE from ALUMERO is a flexible PV mounting system for trapezoidal sheet metal roofs and other metal roofs, which was developed specifically for professional solar installers, roofers and electrical contractors. With this system, photovoltaic modules can be quickly and securely attached to a wide range of metal roofs — from classic trapezoidal sheet profiles to sandwich panel roofs and even curved barrel roofs. Thanks to its clever design, EasyBridge is suitable both for flat direct mounting of the modules on the roof and for raising (increasing inclination) on the trapezoidal sheet metal roof without the need for different mounting systems.

easyBRIDGE offers maximum versatility as a substructure for photovoltaic systems on tin roofs: It supports the installation of solar modules in buildings or landscape mode (vertical or horizontal module orientation) and can be used with or without additional mounting profiles, depending on project requirements. easyBRIDGE is therefore ideal for commercial PV systems on industrial halls, agricultural buildings and other objects with metal or trapezoidal roofs — wherever quick installation, reliable mounting and tightness are top priorities.

  • Quick & easy installation: The trapezoidal steel bridge is simply attached to the roof with special self-drilling screws — without complex preparation. The system allows chip-free mounting, i.e. the drilling screws do not produce any metal chips and generally do not require pre-drilling. As a result, the installation progresses quickly and there are no chips that could cause rust.
  • No roof penetration without sealing protection: Pre-assembled EPDM rubber is attached to the underside of every easyBRIDGE rail. This seal is located between the trapezoidal sheet bridge and the roof covering and ensures that the screw attachment is reliably sealed. The result is a waterproof installation that minimizes the risk of metal roof leaks.
  • Light and robust: All supporting components are made of high-quality aluminum (EN AW 6063 T66 alloy) and stainless steel (V2A) mounting parts. As a result, the system is corrosion-resistant, easy to handle and yet highly resilient. Even with heavy snow loads or wind forces, easyBRIDGE keeps the PV modules securely in place.   • Flexible module layout: The system supports both vertical and horizontal installation of solar modules. Installers can directly attach modules in portrait mode with two horizontal rails or in landscape mode using short mounting rails — easyBRIDGE adapts to the desired layout and module dimensions. This gives planners and installers maximum freedom when arranging the modules on the roof.
  • Wide range of applications: The easyBRIDGE system covers roof slopes of approx. 5° to 35° and is therefore suitable for flatter and moderately inclined roofs. Whether it's an industrial building with a low roof pitch or a barn roof — the system can be used flexibly. Thanks to the high clamping areas, it fits standard trapezoidal sheet metal profiles (made of steel from 0.4 mm or aluminum from 0.5 mm sheet thickness) and distributes the load over two high beads (roof ribs) for optimal force transfer into the sheet.

Variants: Standard, High & Plus (Tilt/Curve)

In order to meet the diverse requirements, easyBRIDGE is available in several variants and sizes:

  • Standard trapezoidal sheet metal bridge (short & long): The basis of the system is the classic trapezoidal sheet bridge, available in two lengths — short (250 mm) and long (400 mm). This allows the holder to be optimally adapted to different high-beaded distances between the trapezoidal sheets. The short version is suitable, for example, for narrower bead gaps, while the long version is used for wider trapezoidal profiles or to bridge two beads. A raised version of the standard bridge (easyBRIDGE) is new to the range tall), which creates a greater distance from the roof surface. This increased version improves the back ventilation of the modules and can therefore lower their operating temperature — which can slightly increase the output of the PV system and promote the lifetime of the module, especially in summer. (Note: A larger air gap also promotes self-cleaning under the module, as dirt and moisture dry off better.)
  • Trapezoidal sheet metal bridge Plus: For special applications, ALUMERO has developed the easyBRIDGE Plus variant — a reinforced version of the trapezoidal sheet bridge with a length of 400 mm. The Plus version is fixed centrally via two roof ribs and, if necessary, bolted to the substructure (purlin) to absorb higher loads (important, for example, with insulation sandwich panels). Areas of application of TBB+: sandwich roofs, Augmentation and barrel roofs:
    • Sandwich roof installation: With insulated sandwich panel roofs, direct screwing into thin sheet metal is often not sufficient. The trapezoidal sheet-metal bridge Plus provides a remedy here by allowing it to be anchored directly into the roof purples (substructure) with longer drilling screws. As a result, the load of the PV system is reliably diverted into the structure without damaging the sandwich panels. At the same time, installation remains simple and chip-free as usual — an EPDM sealing tape is also already attached to the sandwich profile under the rail for tight screwing.
    • Easy elevation (tilt): With the help of the Plus rail, the modules can be raised by approx. 5—7°. For this purpose, special front and rear parts Plus (spacers) are inserted into the trapezoidal steel bridge Plus, which serve as front and rear support. This slight slope is particularly valuable on very flat hall roofs: Even 5—7° more module inclination can noticeably improve energy yield and the self-cleaning effect (rain washes dirt off better). The easyBRIDGE Plus forms the basis for the elevation — it is robust enough to absorb the selective loads of the inclined modules. Thanks to the same self-tapping screws, assembly remains free of pre-drilling and drill chips, even when mounting. This easyBRIDGE Tilt setup enables installers to specifically raise modules on trapezoidal sheet metal roofs to the south, for example, or to optimize flat roof slopes without complex substructures.
    • Curve roofs: easyBRIDGE can even be used on barrel roofs (slightly curved sheet metal roofs). With special adapter plates, the trapezoidal steel bridge Plus can compensate for small differences in level so that the rail is fully supported. This concept, called easyBRIDGE Curve, allows PV modules to be installed on curved hall roofs by having the plus rails follow the curve. This makes it possible to open up other roof types without the need for a completely separate installation system — a major advantage for wholesalers and installers who prefer a uniform system for many applications.
