ALUMERO easyGROUND — Fast, cost-effective open-space PV system

ALUMERO easyGROUND is an innovative assembly system for photovoltaic ground-mounted systems. The system is based on an aerodynamic east-west elevation with an angle of inclination of 10° on both sides. This allows PV modules to be mounted in two opposite directions, which enables high packing density and uniform energy yields. ALUMERO at easyGROUND draws on over 25 years of experience in the development of PV substructures and guarantees the best functionality over the entire lifetime. Installers such as solar engineers, roofers and electricians find a practical solution in easyGROUND, while wholesalers benefit from a sensational cost advantage of around 30%. The main features and benefits of this system are presented below.

  • Cost advantage and material efficiency: Aerodynamic design and material-saving construction result in approx. 30% lower costs compared to conventional outdoor systems. ALUMERO systems are characterized by clever use of material-saving designs, which reduces both investment costs and electricity generation costs.
  • Quick, easy installation: Thanks to pre-assembled components and sophisticated design, easyGROUND is installed in record time. Assembly takes just a few steps and requires no special tools — ideal for time-saving work on the construction site.
  • No complex foundations: The system is coming without ramp post or concrete base off — no ramming required, which saves earthwork and heavy machinery. If necessary, flat ground anchors with a low screw-in depth can be used so that easyGROUND can be firmly anchored even on difficult terrain.
  • Tested safety & quality: easyGROUND is wind tunnel tested and certified by TÜV in accordance with UL 2703. High-quality materials (aluminum and stainless steel) ensure durability and corrosion resistance. The robust design is designed for wind and snow loads of up to 2.4 kN/m² — for reliable operation even under extreme conditions.
  • Lightweight construction & efficient logistics: The main aluminum structure also makes the system lightweight and resilient. As a result, transport costs are very low — up to 1 MW assembly system fits a single truck or 40-foot container. This low weight also simplifies handling and storage for wholesalers.
  • Sustainable thanks to metagreen aluminum: ALUMERO focuses on environmentally friendly metagreen alloys with a high percentage of recycled material. easyGROUND load-bearing aluminum components consist of up to 80% recycled material, which lowest CO₂ emissions made possible during production. High-quality, recycled materials also ensure a long service life without sacrificing quality.

Quick assembly without effort

easyGROUND is extremely time-saving and easy to install. All main components are already pre-assembled, meaning that fewer individual parts have to be screwed together on the construction site. This saves working time and minimizes sources of error. Compared to traditional outdoor racks with lots of loose screws and profiles, easyGROUND significantly reduces installation time — we call it the fastest open space mounting system on the market.

Another time and cost factor is foundation-free installation. No concrete foundations or post ramming are required. Instead, the rack is simply placed on the floor and weighted with ballast weights. If desired, flat ground screw anchors can be used, which can be set with a low screw-in depth. This eliminates the use of heavy machinery such as excavators or piles, which enormously reduces assembly costs, especially in difficult terrain. Even on uneven terrain or sealed surfaces (e.g. asphalt), easyGROUND can be installed without complex preparatory work. For assembly companies, this means shorter project duration, lower personnel costs and faster project completion.

The sophisticated construction ensures that safe installation is possible even on difficult surfaces. Pre-assembled connectors fit together precisely, and integrated module terminals with grounding pins facilitate electrical installation, as each module string is automatically grounded. Overall, easyGROUND allows extremely simple installation — a clear advantage for solar engineers and electrical companies that depend on efficiency.

Cost efficiency & logistics benefits

easyGROUND impresses with exceptional cost efficiency over the entire life cycle. Even the purchase is cheaper — around 30% cheaper compared to traditional outdoor systems. This cost advantage results from several factors: On the one hand, ALUMERO uses a material-saving design that achieves the same stability with less use of material. Less material means lower manufacturing and transportation costs. On the other hand, easyGROUND completely eliminates expensive work such as laying foundations or piles, which results in huge savings in construction equipment and working time, especially in large solar parks.

easyGROUND also shows its strengths when it comes to logistics. The lightweight aluminum construction and compact design ensure that more kilowatts of power can be transported per pallet or truck than heavy steel structures. Specifically, up to 1 MW of assembly system can be stored on a single 40 ft container or truck. For wholesalers and EPC companies, this means lower freight costs and easier goods handling. In addition, the low system weight makes handling on the warehouse and construction site easier — a two-man team can move many components without a crane.

The optimised aerodynamics of the east-west system also reduces ballast requirements. Wind deflectors integrated in the system deflect and reduce the wind load onto the modules. This means that fewer concrete blocks have to be installed, which in turn saves costs and speeds up construction. Overall, the sum of these savings — faster set-up, less material, lower logistics costs — means that open-space systems can be operated extremely economically with easyGROUND.

Robustness and proven safety

Despite its lightweight construction, ALUMERO easyGROUND is extremely robust and designed for heavy loads. The construction consists of corrosion-resistant materials — aluminum EN AW 6060/6063 for load-bearing profiles and clamps, as well as stainless steel screws (A2-70). Even the steel components such as wind deflectors and ballast pans are coated with a durable aluminum-zinc coating. As a result, the system is optimally protected against weather conditions and is designed for a lifetime of 25+ years. ALUMERO underlines durability through the use of high-quality, recycled materials — an advantage for permanently reliable PV systems.

easyGROUND's safety and statics are extensively tested and certified. The aerodynamic design was verified in wind tunnel tests so that the system stays safely on the ground even in stormy weather. In addition, easyGROUND is certified by TÜV in accordance with UL 2703 — an internationally recognized standard for PV module mounting systems. This certification confirms electrical and mechanical safety, including the effectiveness of the grounding pins on the module terminals.

Statics and stability are calculated using software for each project. With the ALUMERO Solar.Pro.Tool, project-related planning and statics can be created for every system. This includes factors such as wind and snow load zones, terrain inclination and module sizes. As standard, easyGROUND is designed for snow and wind loads of up to 2.4 kN/m², which is usually sufficient even for exposed locations in Central Europe. If necessary — for example in alpine regions — the ballasting or anchoring can be adjusted to take on higher loads. This gives installers and builders the certainty that their open-space system is statically safe and compliant with standards.

Sustainability and MetaGreen Technology

Sustainability plays a central role at ALUMERO. This is particularly evident in the easyGROUND system's metagreen® technology. ALUMERO uses secondary aluminum with an average recycled content of 80% for the aluminum profiles. This MetaGreen alloys enable a significantly lower CO₂ footprint in production without sacrificing quality. Each easyGROUND assembly system thus actively contributes to resource conservation and supports installers and project developers in implementing sustainable PV systems.

In addition to the environmentally friendly material, easyGROUND is also characterized by low material costs and long useful life — both important aspects of ecological sustainability. The construction is so robust that it can be used for many years, and at the end of their useful life, the main components (aluminum, steel) are 100% recyclable. ALUMERO underlines the long lifespan of its outdoor systems by using recycled high-quality aluminum. easyGROUND thus meets not only technical and economic requirements, but also ecological requirements: The system combines maximum efficiency with responsibility for our environment.

Flexible areas of application and project planning

The easyGROUND open space system is extremely adaptable and suitable for a wide range of applications. It can be installed on a wide variety of surfaces — whether grassland, arable soil, sand, gravel, gravel or even paved surfaces such as concrete and asphalt. This versatility makes easyGROUND the ideal choice for any size of open-space systems, from smaller commercial PV systems to large solar parks. Starting with just 2 double rows of 2 modules (i.e. 4 modules in total), a system can be implemented, and modular extensions of over 25 × 40 m can be set up with hundreds of modules. The system therefore covers both small projects and utility-scale solar parks.

Another advantage is the tolerance to terrain inclinations: easyGROUND can be securely installed without ground anchors of up to around 10°; on steeper terrain, optional ground anchors can be used to ensure stability. The modules themselves are mounted in an east-west orientation with a 10° inclination, which keeps the shading low — a row spacing of approx. 0.6 m is sufficient to avoid mutual shading of the rows of modules. As a result, the available space can be used to the maximum, an important factor when space is limited or land use costs are high.

ALUMERO offers individual planning for every project. With the in-house planning software solar.pro.tool, installers and planners can determine the optimal configuration for changing the module. Factors such as soil conditions (load capacity, pressure resistance) are taken into account — the client simply has to ensure that the subsoil can bear the required load. If required, ALUMERO provides support with its structural experts, so that every system is implemented in a tailor-made and statically tested manner. This project-based approach not only ensures safety, but also enables flexibility in the module arrangement: The table layout (number of modules per row and per stand) can be freely planned and adapted to customer requirements or terrain conditions.

In summary, easyGROUND offers a highly flexible solution for outdoor PV: Whether it's a flat field, a slope or a sealed surface — the system adapts and always delivers stable results. This makes it equally interesting for solar engineers, EPCs and even energy suppliers who are looking for a reliable and versatile substructure.
